Aircrew Equipment Support Specialist (Secret)


This position will assist in the development and supports policies for the ACC Aircrew Flight Equipment program. Provides support to A3 to plan, organize, and determine necessary policies, regulations, directives, programs, doctrine, and procedures for the establishment and maintenance of assigned command Aircrew Flight Equipment programs. This role will perform the following functions:

Assist within the Command Defense Property Accountability System (DPAS) subject matter. Assist HAF in developing strategic plan for career field utilization of DPAS.

Draft guidance/policy/configuration control related to AFE maintenance within DPAS.

Provide DPAS support to field units by way of conducting system training for users and managing submitted access and system change requests.

Brief senior leadership on DPAS program way ahead, changes, funding requirements as required/requested during AFE related working groups and council meetings.

Utilize DPAS program to monitor, query, and complete AFE time change, munitions, aircrew CBRN, and life-sustaining equipment forecasts and provide final products to supporting agencies.

Resolves kitting/configuration control recommendations and warehouse management program areas.

Provides MAJCOM functional managers resolutions to complex AFE system problems in support of program management.

Support MAJCOM functional managers with AFE acquisition and sustainment prioritization.

Coordinate Aircrew Flight Equipment issues with HAF, subordinate commands, 22 ACC Wings, and various Field Operating Agencies under the CAF umbrella.

Advise technicians throughout the CAF on methods for resolving troubleshooting problems, repairing difficult AFE system malfunctions, research and analysis, and resolving equipment problems with long term Air Force wide implications.

Assist with AFE maintenance procedure and training course development, and conduct technical training as directed.

Disseminate information on AFE technical issues, results of meetings, and conference findings is to specialists in the field.

Recommend changes to AFE maintenance processes to improve combat readiness and system capabilities.

Improve processes and technical support of Air Force AFE systems through demonstrated initiative in support of ACC and CAF requirements.

Assist in the administration of the Command’s AFE operations, long-range resource programming, equipment maintenance, and program sustainment processes.

Provide staff recommendations for AFE operations, contingencies, and wartime requirements utilizing security practices and procedures.

Prepare administrative support and presentation documents needed to brief senior leaders, managers, and technical staff at all levels within and outside the governments as to status of specific program activities.

Assist in the analysis of current policies, programs and requirements as they apply to ACC and worldwide CAF operations and help develop solutions to increase effectiveness in support of warfighting Combatant Commanders.

  • Must have a Secret clearance.

  • Must be a graduate of the USAF Aircrew Life Support, USAF Survival Equipment, or USAF Aircrew Flight Equipment apprentice course and have been awarded the Craftsman (7-level) skill.

  • Must have one year of experience within Aircrew Flight Equipment (1P0X1) career field.

  • Operational fighter, bomber, or C2 aviation background strongly desired.

  • Completion of developmental courses related to Aircrew Flight Equipment (i.e. Program Manager’s Course, Life Sciences Equipment Investigation, and Classroom Instructor Course) designed to improve program management, training, development is desired.
